Restaurant Stucki

A large neighbourhood restaurant, which used to be called the «Bruderholz Restaurant» during Karl Barth’s lifetime. Students from all over the world came to study under Karl Barth. He met with his doctorate students privately either in the Restaurant Bruderholz or at his home. Students met with him in three groups according to the language they spoke best: German, French or English. At every session, a different student would prepare and deliver a presentation on an aspect of Karl Barth’s Church Dogmatics. Then the group would discuss the presentation over a glass of wine and perhaps a smouldering pipe.

Nowadays, the Stucki is one of the best retaurants in town, famous for ist exclusive selection of wine.
